“Uzbekistan is our key political and economic partner in the region” – Kazakh FM
First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Ilhom Nematov, who arrived in Astana to participate in the next round of inter-MFA political consultations, met with Kazakh Foreign Minister Beybut Atamkulov, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
“For us, Uzbekistan is a brotherly nation, a key political and economic partner in the region,” Atamkulov said.
It is noted that the Kazakh Minister focused on the importance of preparation for upcoming events at the highest level, first of all, the second working (consultative) meeting of the heads of Central Asian states in Tashkent, which is scheduled for April 2019.
There was also an exchange of views on the draft program for the “Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan”, which should be continuation of the “Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan”, which ended in 2018.
