Uzbekistan, UAE intend to increase trade turnover
On March 1, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, the MFA reported.
Kamilov, during the meeting, congratulated the Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the beginning of the chairmanship in the CFM OIC and wished him successful work for the benefit of people of the OIC member countries.
The sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for development of interaction within the UN, OIC and other international and regional organizations.
The ministers confirmed mutual interest in developing cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and other fields and the presence of significant potential for this.
It should be noted that in 2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE increased by 23% compared with 2017, and in the current year the sides are looking forward to further escalating the dynamic.
A particular attention was paid to proposals of the parties regarding the timing and agenda of the upcoming bilateral contacts at various levels.
