Denis Istomin reached the main stage of the BNP Paribas Open tournament in Indian Wells (USA).
In the second match of the qualifying stage Istomin played against the representative of Belarus Egor Gerasimov. The match, which lasted 1 hour and 17 minutes, ended with a score of 6: 4, 6: 4 in favor of Istomin. Earlier, Uzbekistan tennis player celebrated a victory over American Evan Song.
Following the draw, Istomin in the first match of the main stage will enter the court against the Dutchman Robin Haase. The match will take place on March 9 at about 1:20 am Tashkent time.
Statistics of personal meetings are not in favor of Istomin. Tennis players met each other on the court three times and in all of them Haase managed to beat Istomin.
The prize fund of the tournament is $9.3 million, the winner will earn 1000 rating points.
