Islamic Development Bank will continue to promote scientific ideas in Uzbekistan – Dr. Hayat Sindi

At the International Business Center in Tashkent, winners of the Roadshow Transform competition have been identified in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the Ministry of Innovative Development, Kun.uz correspondent reports. 

This year, four winners were identified and each of them received a $3,000 cash prizes. They were also allowed to take part in a scientific conference in Senegal in December.

For information, this event has been organized for the fourth time in Uzbekistan. Its purpose is to support scientific initiatives and allocate grants to project owners. It should be noted that Chief Scientific Advisor and Vice President for the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Hayat Sindi shared important information at a press conference for journalists.

“Islamic Development Bank annually hosts similar competitions in seven countries. We allocate around $10-12 thousand awards for each country. Our goal is to support the scientific innovation that can make a great contribution to development of the society.

We also invest in their realization. The Islamic Development Bank will allocate grants worth $50,000 to $1 million for science and technology,” Ms. Sindi said.

Dr. Hayat Sindi assessed the participants as a member of the judging board and said that at the qualifying round of this year, awards were given to participants who created innovation in the field of medicine and industry.

In addition, the contest is open to innovations in the fields of agriculture, education and other key areas. Age and sex are of no importance.

Anyone willing to participate in the Transform Roadshow will be required to submit an application through the website www.isdb-engage.org from April 1 to June 1.

Top
