Islamic Development Bank to allocate over $47 million to universities of Uzbekistan
Based on the Resolution No. 942 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan dated November 22, 2018, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education has launched a new investment project “Strengthening the material and technical base of higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan” at the expense of IDB financial resources, the press service of the Ministry said.
“The total cost of the project is $60.5 million, of which $47.72 million is the financial means of the Islamic development Bank, and $12.81 million is the funds of Uzbekistan,” the statement reads.
The main goal of the project is to equip 50 higher educational institutions throughout the country with modern teaching and laboratory equipment.
