Uzbekistan, Iran discuss construction of Trans-Afghan railway line on the route Mazar-i-Sharif – Herat
On March 13, 2019, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov and the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held negotiations with representatives of Iranian MFA.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral relations, as well as promising areas of cooperation in the region.
The parties reviewed proposals on the schedule for holding a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, inter-MFA political consultations in 2019.
Views were also exchanged on construction of the Trans-Afghan railway line on the route Mazar-i-Sharif – Herat.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Bahman Agharazi Dormani.
