Uzbekistan, Mongolia continue inter-MFA consultations after eight-year hiatus
On March 14, 2019, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia with residence in Astana, Luvsan Battulgu.
Accepting his credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a high and responsible position and wished him success in his work.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on priority areas of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The sides noted their mutual interest in continuing the practice of regular inter-MFA consultations after an eight-year pause, intensifying Uzbek-Mongolian relations in number of areas, including within the UN and the SCO (where Mongolia has observer status).
During the discussion of the prospects for deepening trade, economic and investment cooperation, the parties focused attention on the existing potential for expanding the volume and range of mutual deliveries.
The meeting also considered the issues of increasing cooperation in the tourism sector, given that last year Uzbekistan introduced for Mongolian citizens a visa-free regime for a period of up to 30 days.
