Prosecutor investigating the case of ex-Prosecutor General Kadirov was detained upon giving a large bribe – Mass media
Social networks disseminated information that on March 8, the former prosecutor of the Namangan region Ulugbek Toshev was detained by the SSS officers while giving a large bribe to one of the high-ranking Uzbek officials.
“Toshev was detained while giving a bribe in the amount of $50,000. A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen in relation to him. An attempt to give a bribe was recorded by a video camera,” the media said.
According to media sources, in 2017, Ulugbek Toshev for some time led a prosecution team investigating a criminal case against former Prosecutor General Rashid Kadirov.
Today, on March 15, the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office stated that the chief law enforcement office “does not have information on this issue”.
UzA information agency correspondents also tried to contact the press service of the State Security Service, but as stated by the journalists, “telephone calls remained unanswered”.
It should be recalled that the former prosecutor of the Namangan region Ulugbek Toshev was dismissed from his post on March 4 of this year.
Then the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office stated that he was removed from office “due to shortcomings in the sphere of law enforcement, early prevention of offenses and education of personnel”.
