Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev pardons an Uzbek convict
On March 16, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on pardoning a number of convicted persons.
According to the document, the citizen of Uzbekistan Oybek Akhmedov was pardoned. It is noted that he was convicted by a sentence of the Baku Court on Grave Crimes of August 5, 2016.
It should be recalled that in December 2015, a citizen of Uzbekistan Adambay Khudayverginov (born in 1986) who rented an apartment in the village Sabunchi was found in front of the house with knife wounds in the back and taken to the city clinical hospital No.3, where doctors managed to save his life.
Employees of the 12th police station at the Sabunchi district police department established that Oybek Akhmedov had stabbed his fellow countryman with a knife. On the same day, law enforcement officers detained him and handed him over to the prosecuting bodies.
Then the court sentenced Akhmedov to 6 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
