Tashkent to host meeting of CIS Council of Border Troops' Commanders
On March 28, the next (81st) meeting of CIS Council of Border Troops' Commanders will be held in Tashkent, the organization’s website reports.
The meeting will be attended by leaders of the border agencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the SKPV Coordination Service, as well as other bodies of the CIS, including the Executive Committee of the RATS SCO.
During the session, it is planned to discuss the situation on the external borders of the CIS member states of the Central Asian region and its development trends, to consider the draft program of cooperation in strengthening border security for 2021-2025, to agree on the procedure for preparing and conducting joint special border patrols, operations for the next period, as well as a draft work plan of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops for 2020.
The meeting participants will pay particular attention to organizing work on the preparation and conduct of the Relay race along the external borders of the CIS member states, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
In addition, issues relating to rule-making and joint research activities will be considered, as well as a number of organizational and personnel decisions will be made.
