5,700 hectares of land allocated to Uzbekozikovkatkholding, NMMC and AMMC to be withdrawn

The Cabinet of Ministers will adopt an act on the rational use of land plots in Zomin and Zarbdor districts of the Jizzakh region, production of fruit and vegetables and increasing export volumes. An appropriate project related to this was posted for public discussion.

In accordance with the document, a total of 5,704 hectares of land, allocated by the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Committee for Forestry to the company Uzbekozikovkatkholding and the regional administration’s company Uzbekozikovkatkholding in Jizzakh, the SUE Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine and the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine in order to grow crops for export, may be transferred to the balance of the districts because the land allocated for crops did not produce the desired result. The proposal on transferring the land acquired in the reserve to the LLC JV “Jizzakh organik” may be approved.

Jizzakh region’s administration, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Forestry, the company Uzbekozikovkatkholding, the SUE Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine, and Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine will ensure returning 3136,8 hectares allocated from the Zaamin district and 2567.2 hectares of Zarbdor district – the total area of 5704 hectares to the reserve of the districts’ administrations for their effective use. 

The administration of Jizzakh region jointly with the State Committee for Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and State Cadaster Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture will ensure that 5704 hectares of land will be allocated to the LLC JV “Jizzakh organik”, so that the company will attract a direct foreign investment in the amount of $100 million, use efficiently the granted land, provide food security and create additional job vacancies.
