Russia's largest online retailer plans to enter the market of Uzbekistan
The Russian online store Wildberries plans to enter the EU and CIS markets in 2019, as well as expand the range of its products. This was reported by the founder and CEO of the Internet company Tatyana Bakalchuk in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel, TASS reports.
“This year we plan to enter the European market and, maybe, if it works out, to other CIS countries,” said the owner of the online store. “There are several countries from which we are thinking of starting, but I cannot speak about them yet.” Among the countries where the company's stores may appear, Bakalchuk called Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan.
According to Bakalchuk, Wildberries initially sold clothes, and still the main customers are women. But now the company is expanding the range, actively developing the category of electronics.
The online store Wildberries sells various products now, including toys, sports and baby food, electronics, books, etc. In 2018, the company's revenue amounted to $1.7 billion.
