Customs officers prevent illegal trade of goods worth 3.5 billion soums

Employees of the anti-smuggling and customs infringements directorate of the State Customs Committee (SCC) prevented illegal circulation of previously imported goods worth 3.5 billion soums. 

On the territory of Urtachirchik district, an Isuzu truck was stopped and inspected with participation of witnesses. As a result of the customs inspection, it turned out that 7 different kinds of foreign goods were illegally transported hidden behind the cargo section of the vehicle. Documents confirming the customs clearance of the detected goods were not available, the SCC reported.

In the vehicle, 301 units of electricity meters of 2 types, 20 units of TV sets, 494 units of women's and men's clothing, 7200 units of chewing gum packages, 31 units of dietary supplements and other goods were found. According to preliminary calculations, total amount of the detained items was 1 billion 67 million soums.

In order to fully discover the revealed offense, the offender's house in Namangan city was also inspected in the prescribed manner with participation of witnesses.

During the checks in this house, more than 19,000 units of drugs of 9 varieties and almost 14,000 flashcards with an approximate value of 1 billion 434 million soums were found.

Moreover, officers of the anti-smuggling and customs infringements directorate of the SCC, together with the customs officers in Tashkent city, prevented the illegal importation of a large batch of inventory items.

In particular, when checking stationery arrivals from abroad in the name of one of the individual entrepreneurs operating in our capital, there were discrepancies between the goods in containers and the goods specified in the cargo customs declaration and shipping documents. As a result of the customs inspection, it was identified that more than 266,000 units of office supplies in the amount of 10 tons worth more than 1 billion soums were not indicated in the documents.
