Fine amounts to be fully revised, legislation on imposing fines to be introduced changes

According to the project of the comprehensive program of measures for further reduction and improvement of the activities of government agencies and economic governance bodies, the administrative and criminal legislation defining the type of fine penalty is reviewed.

The followings are taken into account:

full revision of the fine amounts taking into account international experience;

inclusion of internationally accepted penalties, for those who have committed socially-offensive acts, into the legislation and introducing them into practice;

inclusion of liabilities of legal entities into legislation;

defining penalties and their amounts individually in the legislation in accordance with each commitment of social act;

promoting the use of current MMW related procedure for defining the type penalty by linking the proportionality of imposing fines for damages resulting from the offensive action.

In this regard, the draft law of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be developed and submitted to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.

Deadline – June 1, 2019. Responsible executives – Supreme Court, Cabinet of Ministers, General Prosecutor's Office, Ministry of Justice, relevant ministries and organizations.
