Uzbekistan assists Afghanistan in restoring its textile industry
Uzbekistan will provide advisory and technical assistance to rebuild the textile industry in Afghanistan, the press service of the Uztekstilsanoat Association reported.
On March 31, a visit was made by the delegation of Uztextileprom to Kabul, where negotiations were held with Shafiq Shahrani, General Director of the Association of State Enterprises and Corporations of Afghanistan, as well as the head of the Department of Public Corporations of the Ministry of Finance Bilal Safi.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the field of textile industry were discussed.
Following the talks, a memorandum of cooperation on the resumption of the activities of textile production enterprises in Afghanistan was signed, within which the Uzbek side intends to provide advisory and technical assistance.
In particular, Uzbekistan will assist in the development of project documentation for the restoration of textile enterprises in Afghanistan.
In addition, it is planned to organize training courses for specialists in the textile industry in Afghanistan at the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and advanced training at domestic enterprises.
