Uzbekistan's apparel industry grows 12.5% to UZS 12.9 trillion, led by Andijan

Uzbekistan's large apparel manufacturers produced clothing worth UZS 12.9 trillion during the first four months of 2026, up 12.5% year-on-year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

A regional breakdown of the data indicates that Andijan region remains the undisputed powerhouse of domestic clothing production. From January to April, large-scale manufacturers based in Andijan generated an output valued at UZS 5.4 trillion, accounting for a massive share of the nationwide total.

The Tashkent and Namangan regions also registered multi-trillion soum manufacturing figures, with Tashkent region contributing UZS 1.4 trillion and Namangan region following at UZS 1.1 trillion. Meanwhile, Fergana region neared the trillion-soum milestone with a production volume of UZS 1 trillion, closely followed by Tashkent city, where clothing manufacturing reached UZS 999.2 billion.

Other regions contributed moderately to the aggregate national output. Samarkand region produced garments worth UZS 687.1 billion, Bukhara region generated UZS 449.3 billion, and Kashkadarya region recorded UZS 431 billion. Industrial enterprises in Khorezm and Navoi regions manufactured apparel valued at UZS 397 billion and UZS 326.2 billion, respectively.

The remaining manufacturing shares were distributed across Syrdarya region at UZS 200.2 billion and the Republic of Karakalpakstan at UZS 199.9 billion. Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions recorded the lowest manufacturing volumes for this specific four-month interval, contributing UZS 141.8 billion and UZS 132.8 billion respectively to the country's expanding garment sector.
