National pavilion of Uzbekistan to be presented at Cannes International Film Festival
From May 14 to May 22, the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival will be held in France, where the National pavilion “Uzbekistan” will be presented.
The pavilion is organized by the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, the State Tourism Development Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Agency “Uzbekkino”, the Center for development of cinematography, the National film commission of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France.
Earlier, the National Film Commission of Uzbekistan signed an agreement with the Directorate of the Cannes Film Festival, as a result of which the national pavilion is being organized.
During the work of the film festival, it is planned to hold events to promote cinema tourism and unique sites of our country, as well as to invite well-known moviemakers to Uzbekistan to shoot new films.
In addition, it is planned to organize presentation of the V International Film Festival PROlogue, participate in joint film projects with the participation of world cinema producers and promote national films of Uzbekistan on the world stage.
It should be recalled that the National pavilion of Uzbekistan was presented at the Cannes International Film Festival for the first time in 2018. In February of this year, young filmmakers for the first time took part in the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), where they were able to establish partnerships with many representatives of European cinema.
