Single Republican Processing Center and Visa international payment system have successfully completed the project “Creating “Visa card acquiring” in Uzcard terminal network”. According to it, Kapitalbank's POS and ATM terminals are prepared to serve to international Visa cards.
The rest of the banks operating in the Republic of Uzbekistan may apply for “Visa card acquiring” at the Uzcard terminal network after implementation of mandatory Visa procedures, only then the trade-service organizations will be allowed to accept Visa cards. Commissions for accepting international Visa cards in the local terminal network are determined by each bank independently.
“We are glad to have the opportunity to service Visa cards for trade and service organizations in Uzbekistan. This initiative will give impetus to the transition to cashless economy across the country. It is important to have cashless payments and a favorable environment for development of the country's payment system,” Galim Tabildiyev, Chief Manager of the Visa international system in Central Asia said.
One of the main requirements of the Visa payment system is having PCI DSS, PCI PIN Security and Visa PIN Security compliances. The company successfully passed these certifications, which provided the basis for payments through Visa international payment cards in local terminals.
To receive Visa cards, POS-terminal holders of trade-service organizations should appeal to the servicing bank.
It should be noted that the annual turnover of Visa cards is $4.8 trillion.
