A number of land plots have been exempted from land tax - Gov't decree 

A resolution of the Government of Uzbekistan “On additional measures for further development of production of wooden parings and their alternative types” (№ 297, 11.04.2019) is adopted.

According to the telegram channel of the Ministry of Justice, there are 88,126 hectares of reedy areas in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Surkhandarya and Bukhara regions, on which 475,884 tons of reeds are produced.

In accordance with the resolution, enterprises producing particle boards and their alternatives will be established in small industrial zones of these regions. 

At the same time, the registry of the reed beds will be formed, which can be used in an industrial way that will not harm the environment, the animal world and migratory birds because of harvesting the reeds. 

On the basis of this reedy registry, investors will be attracted to produce wooden parings and their alternatives.

According to the resolution, the country will produce 60,000 cubic meters of particle board and their alternatives in 2019, 190,000 cubic meters - in 2020 and 330,000 cubic meters - in 2021.

By January 1, 2022, raw materials, equipment and spare parts imported by woodworking manufacturers of wooden parings and their alternatives have been exempt from customs duties.

Entrepreneurs, who form wooden plantations to grow poplars, paulownias and other fast-growing wood-bedded trees, are exempt from the land tax until 1 January 2022.

According to the law, legal entities importing wooden parings or similar wooden materials, were exempt from import duties and VAT. This privilege will be canceled from May 1, 2019.
