Addenda to regulations on the work of foreign correspondents in Uzbekistan to be introduced
On the portal of discussions of draft normative-legal acts, the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On introducing amendments to the Basic rules governing the professional activity of correspondents of foreign mass media in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan” has been placed.
Reportedly, Article 6 of the Basic regulations governing the professional activity of correspondents of foreign mass media in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, approved by the resolution №33 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated February 24, 2006, is added a new paragraph in the following content:
“The decision on accreditation of a correspondent of foreign mass media belonging to our compatriots living abroad is accepted in the period up to five working days after receipt of the application at the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of a diplomatic representation or consular office of Uzbekistan abroad. In addition to the documents required in paragraph 5 of these Basic regulations, information on the founder(s) and sources of funding must also be provided for accreditation”.
Ministries and agencies shall regulate normative legal acts adopted by them in accordance with this decree.
Control over execution of this resolution is entrusted to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov.
