Changes to be introduced to Pension Age - Deputy FinMin
It is proposed to reconsider the age of retirement in Uzbekistan, in accordance with which pension age will be linked to years of employment, Deputy Finance Minister Yorqin Tursunov said on April 18 in an interview with Kun.uz correspondent within the framework of the International Conference on Pension Reform and the Experience of Foreign Countries.
“One of the most important issues discussed at today's conference is the revision of the new concept of retirement age. Last year, the Concept Paper suggested that the retirement age was changed to 58 for women and 65 for men. However, this offer has been subject to considerable opposition. Therefore, in the new version of the Concept, we are proposing a different option. In compliance with it, the retirement age will depend on the citizens’ length of employment. Citizens with more years of service will be able to get early retirement,” he said.
