Ministry of Public Education reveals financial violations worth 11.4 billion soums
The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2019 during inspections of 1,444 schools revealed financial irregularities amounting to 11.4 billion soums. This was reported by the press service of the MPE.
In particular, employees of the Internal Audit and Financial Control Department of the MPE revealed facts of over-planning of funds in the cost estimates of 4.2 billion soums (37.5% of the total amount), unreasonable payment of wages, including non-working persons, payment for outstanding work worth just over 2 billion soums (18.2%). In addition, the facts of payments on fake certificates of qualification categories and excessive payments of allowances and premiums of almost the same amount (17.7%) were revealed.
The Department of Internal Audit and Financial Control of the Ministry and its regional divisions transferred 190 cases to law enforcement agencies, which contain criminal offenses totaling 3.8 billion soums. In accordance with the law, 279 officials were brought to disciplinary actions.
As a result of measures taken to prevent violations of budget legislation, illegally spent budget funds in the amount of 3 billion soums were recuperated.
