On May 9, festive fireworks will be organized, World War II military equipment will be demonstrated – Presidential decree

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a decree “On measures for preparation and holding of the events dedicated to the Day of Memory and Honors”. The document was published by UzA.

According to the decree, the Program for preparation and holding of the events dedicated to May 9 – the Day of Memory and Honors was approved. In this regard, a working group has been set up.

The head of the working group (A.Aripov):

together with the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, administrations of regions and Tashkent city, under the slogans “Remembrance of ancestors is a sacred value”, “Attention and care – humanitarian commitment” ensures the high level of implementation of the events envisaged in the Program and provides practical assistance in preparing and organizing events dedicated to the celebration of May 9 – the national holiday, the Day of Memory and Honor at places;

in order to provide material and moral assistance to each member of the World War II, labor veterans beyond the front, and families of the deceased servicemen and law enforcement officers who lost their lives during the years of independence, coordinating representatives of relevant ministries, agencies and other organizations, military units, organizes visits of leaders to their places of residence with a view to congratulating this class of people;

carries out appropriate measures to repair and improve the homes and households of the single and low-paid World War II veterans;

during preparations for the holiday, organizes cultural-enlightenment and patriotic events, emphasizes and promotes the importance of courage of the attendees of the Second World War and labor veterans beyond the front, law enforcement officers, who died during the years of independence among the public, especially the youth;

shall solemnly present a one-time monetary award to participants and disabled veterans of the Second World War on the behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

convenes patronage service on a constant basis for each of the participants and disabled people of the Second World War, coordinating medical care (contractual) staffing in order to take care provide medical and social support;

carries out appropriate measures to give the names of people, who went to the Second World War from Uzbekistan and made their unique contribution to the victory – heroes of the war, to the streets where they were born and grown up;

organizes free vouchers to sanatoriums in the territory of the Republic on the basis of wishes of participants and invalids of World War II;

arranges a demonstration of military equipment used during World War II at the places designated by the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the regions and the city of Tashkent;

organizes an exhibition of photos and documents from the archives of the World War II in Tashkent city;

ensures that each person, who made a contribution to the victory and who sacrificed for the sake of independence of our Motherland, will be remembered and given worthy respect. 

On May 9, 2019, at 21:00, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan will arrange festive wireworks dedicated to the Day of Memory and Honors in Tashkent city.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall ensure the public order and security at places of ceremonial events.
