The State Customs Committee proposes to raise customs duties on the import of mineral water, follows from the draft presidential decree published by the Committee.
It is all about commercial products with the code TN VED 2201:
Water, including natural or artificial mineral ones, carbonated, without added sugar or other sweetening or flavoring substances; ice and snow.
Now the duty on the importation of this product is 30% of the customs value of goods. The project proposes to raise the duty up to 50% and set a minimum rate of $0.25 per liter (at the moment, there is no minimum rate).
The Committee believes that the rate hike will help maintain a healthy competitive environment, provide the domestic market with quality consumer goods and stimulate domestic production.
One can get acquainted with the project, submit suggestions and comments to it until May 14.
