Uzbekinvest’s regional head caught red-handed while receiving $4,000 in bribe

One of the local entrepreneurs in the Kashkadarya region applied to a commercial bank to obtain a 1-billion-soums loan for the construction of a cold storage warehouse in Karshi, UzA reported.

In accordance with the established procedure, the entrepreneur is primarily required to apply to an insurance company to obtain a loan from the bank. When the entrepreneur met with the head of Karshi city branch of Uzbekinvest national insurance company S.K., he promised to provide a loan of 1 billion soums for $4,000.

During an operative event organized by the Kashkadarya Regional Department of the State Security Service, S.K. was caught red-handed while receiving $4,000 from the businessman.

At present, according to the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, criminal case has been initiated and investigative actions are underway.
