“Davr” bank comments on incident of the Uchtepa branch

The Uchtepa branch of “Davr Bank” has launched service inspection on objections of citizens against former employee of the branch J. Yu.

According to the results of the inspection, J. Yu. and B. M. offered types of services that cannot be practiced in the Republic of Uzbekistan (very cheap auto loan (11% per annum) mortgage (7% per annum) and a very large percentage of deposits (10%, 18% per month) to some citizens. It was identified that they legalized their illegal activities by falsifying the account of remittance in order to avoid doubtfulness of citizens and provided customers with counterfeit receipt orders. As a result, they were able to collect a lot of money from citizens and embezzled the funds on their own needs.

In order to take legal action on the detected circumstances, the bank filed an appeal to the Tashkent Central Department of Internal Affairs on 26.04.2019 and enclosed all attesting documents. On the fact, the Uchtepa district Internal Affairs Department has initiated a criminal case under part 3 of Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code.

Currently, the investigation department at the Tashkent Central Department of Internal Affairs is inspecting the criminal case.

In accordance with appeals of the citizens affected from illicit activities of J. Yu. and instruction of the Central Bank, even though Article 31 of the Law of Uzbekistan “On banks and banking” states that relations between banks and their clients must be concluded on a contractual basis, it has been determined that the damage of citizens, who do not have a contract on hand, will be compensated by the CJSC “Davr Bank”.
