Andijan-Savai-Khanabad railway tracks to be modernized

With the launch of suburban train service, JSC Uzbekistan Railways plan to implement the Andijan-Savai-Khanabad railway modernization project.

The corresponding resolution approving the feasibility estimates for the project has been approved by the government of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the resolution, the project cost is estimated at over $17.39 million, of which $11.33 million will be provided by JSC Uzbekistan Railways, while the rest funding ($6.06) will be contributed by the state budget.

The document states that the project is intended to be implemented within 15 months. Around 65 km of railway tracks will be modernized as part of the project.
