IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde arrives in Uzbekistan
Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde arrived in Uzbekistan.
“The meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, is taking place at the Ministry of Finance,” the press service of the FinMin said.
It should be noted that it has been ten years since the last visit of the IMF’s head to Uzbekistan. The last time, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, previous Managing Director of the organization, visited the republic in 2009.
Lagarde reported on her visit in April during a meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in China. “I want to see with my own eyes the results of large-scale reforms that you are implementing for the benefit of the people of Uzbekistan,” she said then.
She is expected to meet with the President of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
