Penalty for illegal tinting dramatically increased

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has signed the law “On Introduction of amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan to ensure the protection of the rights of criminal proceeding participants”.
The following amendments and additions were introduced to the Code on Administrative Responsibility, approved by the Law No. 2015-XII of the Republic of Uzbekistan of September 22, 1994:
The text of Article 126 (Use of tinted or coated vehicles that limit the viewing of the surroundings) has been introduced as follows:
“The use of vehicles with modified (tinted) glasses, as well as the use of vehicles with overlays to limit the viewing from the driver's seat that do not meet technical regulation requirements, except for the tinting permitted transports, will be imposed fines –
twenty five times MMW (earlier – one-time MMW).
If the same offense is committed repeatedly within a year after the imposition of an administrative penalty –
forty times MMW (earlier – two times MMW)”.
