Couple detained in Tashkent while selling a 9-month-old child for $9,000
Law enforcement officers detained a young couple in Tashkent while they were trying to sell their nine-month-old child for $9,000, the public relations and media department of the Interior Ministry said Wednesday.
“On June 17, in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent, officers of the internal affairs bodies detained a 23-year-old resident of the Khatyrchi district (Navoi region) S. I. and a 26-year-old resident of the Chilanzar district (Tashkent) G.T., while they were selling a nine-month child for $9,000,” the statement reads.
Currently, the criminal case is under investigation.
