Tanzila Narbayeva becomes Senate Chairperson

Tanzila Narbayeva was elected chairperson of the upper chamber of Oliy Majlis during the 20th plenary session of the Senate, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

It should be reminded that on June 20, Nigmatilla Yuldashev, chairman of the Senate, was appointed Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan as the former head of the government body Otabek Murodov was dismissed from office.

Today, during the Senate meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that a criminal case has been initiated against Murodov. He is accused of bribery.

In the meantime, Elmira Basitkhanova was approved as the Chairperson of the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan, the post, which was previously held by Tanzila Narbayeva.
