Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan reach agreement on conducting field demarcation work on selected sections of interstate border

From 19 to 25 June 2019, a regular meeting of the working groups of Joint Uzbek-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of the state border between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was held in Turkmenabad.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties continued to consider proposals for the passage of the project demarcation line of the interstate border during the meeting.
The sides developed draft requirements for accelerating aerial photographic work at the border.
Based on the results of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on conducting field demarcation work on selected sections of the joint border, including with the involvement of specialists.
Following the talks, the leaders of the working groups Tulkin Abdullayev and Mamed Mamedov signed a relevant protocol.
