Uzbekneftegaz reveals gas production data for first time

About 61 billion cubic meters of gas is annually produced in Uzbekistan, of which 40 billion accounts for Uzbekneftegaz. This was announced by the board chairman Bakhodir Sidikov.
“As you know, gas production data has always been closed information, but today we are going a step further, we are already revealing data on gold and foreign exchange reserves. So it is time to disclose gas production figures: we produce about 61 billion cubic meters of gas per year,” he said.
At the same time, the share of Uzbekneftegaz accounts for 40 billion cubic meters of gas, of which 5 billion goes to various technological processes for producing oil.
Recently, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed Uzbekneftegaz to increase hydrocarbon production, including natural gas, up to 42.3 billion cubic meters and liquefied gas – up to 1.5 million tons by 2024.
“Today's base is 35 billion cubic meters. The task is to increase production by 7.3 billion. With such amount of production, the country’s needs can be fully met,” Sidikov said.
According to him, the current need is 39 billion cubic meters of gas.
It should be that Uzbekistan approved roadmaps for implementation of the development Concept for the oil and gas industry until 2030, which envisages an increase in hydrocarbon production, modernization of the gas transmission system, improved accounting and control of production, processing, as well as transportation and sale of natural gas.
