AIIB to allocate $600 million for infrastructure development of Bukhara region
The Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) president Jin Liqun in Luxembourg.
During the meeting, an unprecedentedly high rate of mutual cooperation was noted, referring to both accelerated progress on ongoing projects and great prospects for expanding partnership, in connection with which Jin Liqun acknowledged that the history of successful interaction of the AIIB with Uzbekistan can become a model for other participating countries.
The possibility of holding an annual meeting of the AIIB Board of Directors in Uzbekistan in the near future was also discussed.
Following the meeting, an agreement was signed on the implementation of a set of projects in the field of water supply, sanitation and construction of roads in the Bukhara region for a total amount of over $600 million.
