MFA confirms detention of Uzbek citizens for theft of bicycles in South Korea
The Uzbek Embassy in Seoul confirmed the information that two citizens of Uzbekistan committed theft of bicycles in South Korea, the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.
“The consular department of the Uzbek embassy in Seoul confirmed the information that foreign students, including two citizens of Uzbekistan, committed theft of bicycles and were detained by Jeonju police,” the message reads.
The press service of the Foreign Ministry also stated that investigations are currently underway. The embassy established contacts with law enforcement agencies and took the situation under control.
It was earlier reported that two students from Uzbekistan and a Kyrgyz citizen stole 34 bicycles over the course of two weeks.
