Doctor detained while receiving $25,000 in bribes for alleged help with admission to Tashkent Medical Academy
A doctor was detained in Tashkent while receiving $25,000 in bribes for helping with admission to Tashkent Medical Academy, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
“In the course of an operational event conducted by employees of the prosecuting bodies, on the “Shifokorlar” Street of the Almazar district, Tashkent city, a doctor of the “Nov” rural medical center, located in the Yakkabag district, Kashkadarya region, A. K., was detained with physical evidence upon receipt of $25,000 by deception. He promised to help citizen I. A. with admission to Tashkent Medical Academy through his acquaintances,” the statement reads.
On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated against A. K. under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are underway.
