Ex-Prosecutor General Otabek Murodov convicted on the case of Ikhtiyor Abdullayev
Former Prosecutor General Otabek Muradov is being convicted on the case of the former Chairman of the State Security Service Ikhtiyor Abdullayev. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General’s Office Hayot Shamsutdinov.
“His actions are currently being considered within the framework of the criminal case against Ikhtiyor Abdullayev. The rest is related to the secrecy of the investigation. At the moment, I cannot give a comment. As soon as we have official information, we will let you know immediately,” he said.
It should be recalled that on June 21, during the 20th plenary session of the Senate, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that a criminal case has been initiated against the former Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Otabek Murodov.
Murodov was appointed Prosecutor General in January 2018. Prior to that, he served as a state advisor to the head of the republic.
Earlier, it was also reported that a criminal case was initiated against the former SSS Chairman Ikhtiyor Abdullayev and his deputy Jakhongir Egamov.
