Shavkat Mirziyoyev pardons 65 convicts

The President of Uzbekistan signed a decree to pardon 65 convicts in connection with the celebration of Independence Day, TV channel “Uzbekistan 24” reported.

As noted, 17 prisoners have been completely released from punishment, 13 people have been released on parole. Also, the penalties imposed on 20 persons have been changed to milder ones.

In addition, the sentences in the form of imprisonment were reduced for 14 convicts. One prisoner is released from punishment in the form of restriction of freedom.

It should be recalled that in June, on the eve of Eid al Adha holiday, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On the pardon of a group of persons serving sentences, who sincerely repented of their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction”. According to the document, 575 citizens, who were serving sentences at places of imprisonment for committing a crime, sincerely repenting of their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction, were pardoned.
