Liability for damage to objects of tangible cultural heritage strengthened
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law “On amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” Justice Ministry reported on Saturday.
In accordance with the Law, legislative acts aimed at protecting the objects of tangible cultural heritage have been amended.
In particular, responsibility for the destruction, damage or any harm to objects of tangible cultural heritage, committed whether intentionally or through negligence, has been strengthened.
Also, the conservation of immovable tangible cultural heritage is now a licensed activity.
This Law shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.
