Uzbekistan plans to completely abandon government procurement of cotton and wheat
Uzbekistan is planning to completely abandon government procurement of cotton and wheat. This is stated in the “Roadmap” on implementation of the Agriculture Development Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030.
In addition, it is planned to improve the financial support mechanisms by the state for certain categories of agricultural producers, which provides for increasing their financial literacy and raising the awareness of the financial sector about agriculture.
In turn, introduction of warehouse certificates in agriculture, and a complete transition to the agricultural support system, which stimulates the intensification of agricultural production, is also envisaged.
