Audit companies KPMG and Ernst & Young will certify hotels that qualify for state subsidies, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

It should be recalled that in Uzbekistan, part of the costs of investors for the construction and equipping of a new hotel will be compensated by the state budget.

“To ensure the transparency of the subsidy process, authoritative international companies KPMG Audit and Ernst & Young have been involved in hotel certification. In October this year, it is expected to provide subsidies with the participation of these international companies for six hotels that have received the appropriate attestation,” the State Committee for Tourism said.

Compensation from the state occurs if the facility is commissioned before January 1, 2022 with at least 50 rooms for a 3-star hotel and at least 100 rooms for a 4-star hotel.

The amount of financing part of the costs of investors with their annual indexation in the process of approving the parameters of the state budget for the next year will be 40 million soums for each room in hotels with a category of 3 stars and 65 million soums for each room in hotels with a category of 4 stars.

In addition, royalties from resident organizations of Uzbekistan for the use of prestigious global hotel brands for three years from the entry into force of the franchise contract are also partially funded from the state budget.

So, the first 50 hotels with a category of 3 stars are annually financed in the equivalent of $200 per room for each hotel, the first 30 hotels with a category of 4 stars – annually in the equivalent of $400 per room. At the same time, the total amount of financing of royalties is limited to $10 million.
