The delegation of Uzbekistan, led by the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, visited the office of DP World (UAE), the largest port operator with 60 operating and 11 under construction terminals in 31 countries.
During negotiations with the company’s management, represented by the CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, implementation of a major joint investment project in the field of international logistics in the Navoi region was discussed.
The Emirati partners announced that due to its favorable geographical location and developed transport communications network, Uzbekistan has significant untapped potential in the field of cross-border transportation in the Central Asian region, which is why this project is being considered and studied as a matter of priority.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on the speedy finalization and coordination of the full concept of the project and options for its financing, after which it will be possible to proceed with further steps in this direction.
