Mirziyoyev congratulates teachers and mentors on their professional holiday
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated teachers and mentors of the country on their professional holiday, the presidential press service reports.
“With all my heart I congratulate you, all those working in the field of education and upbringing, on the Teachers and Mentors Day and express you my best wishes. On this significant day, with deep respect and gratitude, we bow to you, our kind and caring teachers and mentors, who have given us versatile knowledge and prepared for independent life,” the head of state said.
The President noted that reforms in the educational sector have become the most important, priority objective of the state policy.
In addition, Mirziyoyev noted that it is necessary to effectively implement measures to improve the study of foreign languages, information and communication technologies, reform management in the system of higher and secondary specialized education, attract young people to scientific activities and support their initiatives. In the field of vocational education, it is necessary to accelerate the transition to a new system that fully meets the requirements of the labor market and international standards.
“We are all well aware that today in the world there are growing threats of destructive forces that seek to seize the youth’s consciousness and radicalize it. To confront such challenges and threats, all of us together, relying on our national ideology, should strengthen the interaction of the family, school and mahalla in educating the younger generation,” he said.
The head of state emphasized that the above task should be a matter of honor for leaders of all levels, organizations of youth, women and veterans, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, religious figures, law enforcement officials, and the Uzbek society as a whole.
“Once again, I congratulate you on the Teachers and Mentors Day! I wish you all good health, great success in your hard and noble activities, happiness and prosperity for your families,” Mirziyoyev concluded.
