Lukoil comments on obscene remarks by the company’s employee to local workers

Lukoil company reacted to rude remarks by an employee of the company to local workers in the Kashkadarya region.

It should be recalled that the other day a video was posted on the network, in which a senior employee of a unit of the Russian oil company Lukoil obscenely insulted the workers of the Jarkuduk gas treatment complex in the Kashkadarya region. As the workers themselves said, the incident occurred two weeks ago, the video was discussed widely within the team, then on social networks.

The press service of Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company reported that during the work at the Jarkuduk substation, a team of electricians led by the foreman had grossly violated safety requirements that could lead to the brigade death and damage to expensive equipment and failure of the entire facility. These violations were identified by the chief power engineer Ivan Shilov, after which the work at the substation was suspended until it was brought into compliance with the approved rules.

“Realizing the possible tragic consequences for the lives of his subordinates due to non-compliance with instructions, Ivan Shilov neglected the moral-ethical standards of communication and made rude remarks to local and seconded personnel,” the press service said.

It also became known that the company is currently conducting an internal investigation, in connection with which Ivan Shilov was called to a meeting of the Business Ethics Commission of PJSC Lukoil (Moscow). Based on the results of the investigation, disciplinary measures will be applied to all participants of the incident.

“Understanding the degree of responsibility towards the society for ensuring the safety and health of staff and the population, Lukoil, in its work, is guided by high standards in the field of industrial safety and labor protection and closely monitors compliance with established rules,” the company concluded.

Earlier, representatives of several NGOs of Uzbekistan expressed their views on the above incident.
