Shavkat Mirziyoyev explains how Central Asia can take a more worthy place in the global economy
Creation of coordinated policy mechanisms and the development of foreign markets will open up new opportunities for economic growth for Central Asian countries. Thus, the region will be able to take a more worthy place in the global economy, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his greeting message to the participants of the CAREC Ministerial Conference, which is being held in Tashkent.
The greeting was read out by the presidential adviser Ravshan Gulyamov.
According to Mirziyoyev, the region is becoming increasingly attractive to international investors due to its important geopolitical position, rich natural resources, production and human resources, as well as transit potential.
“Effective use of these specific advantages, deepening of economic cooperation, creation of new coordinated policy mechanisms and development of foreign markets will open new opportunities for the economic growth of our countries,” the greeting says. “So we can together achieve that in the near future, our region will occupy an even more worthy place in the global economy and global transport infrastructure”.
In this regard, the countries are faced with the task of diversification and formation of new transport corridors connecting CA with Europe, the countries of the Pacific region and South Asia, creation of modern logistics centers, the leader of Uzbekistan noted.
“All this creates the conditions for international investors to consider Central Asia as a single, promising market,” he emphasized.
The President noted with satisfaction that over the past years, CAREC has been transformed into an effective platform for developing effective approaches and solutions to key development issues.
“We hope that the CAREC program will continue to expand its activities to attract foreign investment in the economies of the region, enriched by huge development potential and a large market, thus contributing to the deepening of regional cooperation,” Mirziyoyev added.
