The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution “On the phased transfer of higher education institutions to the self-financing system”.
The above document approved the list of 10 universities that are switching from January 1, 2020, as an experiment, to a self-financing system. When choosing universities, the high scientific-pedagogical potential of these educational institutions, the stability of financial activity, an adequate level of material-technical base, and the high demand for these specialties in the educational services market were taken into account.
In addition, a number of additional tasks of universities, which are switching to a self-financing system, have been identified. The provision of additional educational services, advanced training of specialists in economic sectors and the introduction of other paid services are among them.
According to the document, the term for payment of tuition fees of students studying at these universities is determined by a mutual agreement of the parties.
