Farrukh Dadakhodjayev: Each patrol post is a center of criminality

On October 13, Tashkent hosted a meeting of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security.

According to Kun.uz correspondent, during the event, participants discussed the issues related to the activities of patrol posts.

The head of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security Farrukh Dadakhodjayev said that each patrol post is a center of criminality. He noted that illegal posts operate in many places, and “Stop” signs are illegally installed.

“This sign should be affixed only in emergency situations. During the daytime, police officers collect them, and in the evening put them back. Each patrol post is a center of criminality. Reportedly, they place the sign on the eve of a holiday for the purpose of prevention, but do not install it a month in advance. Each patrol post should have photo-fixations and camera surveillances,” he said.

Farrukh Dadakhodjayev emphasized that it is necessary to establish clear control over the activities of patrol posts along the “Fergana-Tashkent” highway.

Earlier, information was circulated in the media that in some regions of Uzbekistan, patrol posts and guard services were reopened. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that, according to a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, 74 out of 133 stationary and patrol posts were closed in the republic. At the same time, 59 posts are still operating.

“Taking into account the criminal situation, with the permission of the Interior Ministry in Tashkent, Tashkent region and other areas, posts were reopened. In addition, holidays and political events are expected in the republic. All this is being done in order to ensure security,” the press service of the Interior Ministry said.

It should be recalled that on December 22, 2017, Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the presence of road patrol posts between the regions of Uzbekistan during his speech at the Palace of Symposiums in Tashkent. According to the head of state, they restrict freedom of movement and adversely affect trade-economic relations, domestic and inbound tourism.
