Recently, a meeting of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health was held, which was attended by members of the Committee, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, as well as the media.
Reportedly, today out of the 33.7 million population, 14.9 million are economically active and 13.6 million of them are provided with work. Thus, according to official statistics, 1.3 million citizens are unemployed.
According to the Labor Ministry, the unemployment rate in the republic in relation to the economically active population is 8.9%, which is 0.4% less compared to 2018.
In the official sector, the number of employed people at the end of 2018 increased by 5.7%. In January-October 2019, more than 300,000 jobs have been created in the republic. Therefore, the ten-month forecast has been fulfilled by 119.7%.
During the meeting, senators also spoke about the lack of information on a number of provisions in the field of labor and employment.
