Uzbekistan, France discuss priority areas of cooperation on socio-economic development of Afghanistan

On December 12, 2019, the Special Representative of the President for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France Isabelle Servoz-Gallucci, the MFA said.
During the conversation, the efforts of Uzbekistan and France to launch a peaceful political process in Afghanistan, the priority areas of our country's policy on the socio-economic development of the neighboring country, as well as the establishment of Uzbek-French cooperation on the issue of supporting the educational sphere of the IRA were discussed.
The French side highly appreciated the new regional policy of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at creating an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive cooperation in Central Asia, in particular, the efforts for the economic reconstruction of Afghanistan and its involvement in regional integration processes.
An interest was expressed in France’s participation in financing infrastructure projects implemented by Uzbekistan, including in the field of training Afghan national personnel at the Educational Center in Termez.
