Tashkent’s public transport to switch to an automated payment system from 2020
On January 1, 2020, a system of automated payment of fares in the public transport will be introduced in Tashkent, the capital’s administration reported.
This system will be introduced in stages. At the first stage, monthly travel cards for an automated payment will be introduced, at the second stage – daily payment cards.
It is planned to launch the new payment system in cooperation with the Swedish BPC Group, specialists from the company’s Russian branch are already training drivers, conductors and cashiers of bus depots under Toshshakhartranskhizmat JSC.
At the first stage, stationary validators will be installed in 200 buses of the capital, and portable ones will be used in the rest.
